We are seeking a skilled and dedicated System Administrator with a focus on cloud infrastructure to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our cloud-based environments to ensure high availability, security, and scalability. This role involves working closely with our development and IT teams to support our cloud infrastructure's ongoing needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage cloud-based infrastructure services, including compute, storage, network, and security components
  • Implement and maintain cloud security best practices, including managing IAM roles, security groups, and ensuring data protection
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient operation of cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate with development teams to automate and streamline operations and processes for deploying and managing applications in the cloud
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Stay current with industry trends, make recommendations for improvements, and participate in the planning and implementation of new cloud technologies
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders regarding cloud infrastructure and related technologies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in system administration, with a focus on cloud environments, preferably AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in setting up Linux (Ubuntu) based server environments, including Apache, MySQL, and OpenVPN
  • Strong understanding of cloud services, networking concepts, and cloud security principles
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for the automation of tasks and operations
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively internally as well as with customers
  • Experience setting up VMware and integrating SSO systems such as ADFS, Okta, SAML is a plus
  • Candidates local to the Greater Seattle Area are preferred, we will consider remote employees (located in the United States) if an exceptional fit for the role
